THE ABSTRACT OF SUSIE WOLF Life is so very interesting. One minute you are cooking a beautiful meal and feeling so lighthearted and happy, then all of a sudden you feel a sharp pain in your chest above your heart, accompanied by a tremendous pain in your forehead that creates a total physical weakness causing you to drop to the kitchen floor. Luckily, you have your cell phone that is sitting on the kitchen counter, and you have just enough strength to call Barbara, your neighbor who drives our local small town ambulance service truck. After twenty years of being a resident in our tiny town of Montana, Barbara and others have driven me several times to our rural hospital in Bozeman. It was because of my health issues that I met Ethan Kaull. All of our ambulance drivers who are volunteers, are under a great deal of stress due to the unexpected growth in our town. My mother, Rosann Rosso, was the inspiration for my most beloved composition entitled Rosann's Tone Poem. Why would I title a painting with such a strange name? Well, because Rosann was a great pianist, organist, and before I was born, she also played the cello but sold the cello in order to pay for my birth at Santa Monica Hospital in Los Angeles, California. My mother wasn't just a musician; she was also a very artistic gardener. One year, in the 1960's era, my mother decided to plant gladioli's all along the walls of our garage in the backyard. Rosann grew magenta, yellow and orange gladioli's that were gigantically spectacular. As an Italian family, every Sunday we all gathered at our table to eat together and it was my job, as the youngest of four children, to cut stems and to bring in a dozen or so of gladioli from our beautiful garden.
